West From Sydney
The
Blue Mountains

From Sydney, take the direction Paramatta / Penrith and after a short drive of 50 kms. you reach the Blue Mountain National Park.

The Blue Mountains is a rugged range rising abruptly from coastal plains and presented for a long time a formidable barrier to the colony located at Sydney Cove. The 24 little towns of the region are very nice and quite, take the time to stop and have look to some of the houses and their landscaping.

The region offers great panoramic views, some well known as the Three Sisters and the Katoomba Falls, Orphan Rock, ... Many walktraks are available.
One option is to drive to Katoomba and from there walk, take the Scenic Railway or the Skyway (cableway), both very impressive. I did the first one, and was with a group of children. I think their teacher was more scarred than them !!!

The Three Sisters

The visit will not be complete is you forget the Jenolan Caves, 80 kms. west from Katoomba.
