| Cervantes located 245 kms North of Perth is
the access point to the fascinating Nambung National park, famous
for a place called the Pinnacle Desert.
In this area of sands, of various colours, there are
thousands of limestone pinnacles, which range in size up to
5 metres tall and 2 metres thick at the base.
You need a maximum of two hours to visit the place. In
the Pinnacles park, the road is delimited by row of stones.
You do not need a 4x4 vehicle but do not try to enter with
your caravan. You must leave it in the car park at the entrance.
Driving in the park you will probably have the temptation
to stop too often. It is true that it is only sand, stone,
.... but each meter the view is different

I did not have the opportunity to stay in the park for
the sunset. Do it if you can. I am sure that you will keep
a great souvenir and probably great slides or photos.
If it is your final destination for the day you will
probably find accommodation in Cervantes or in Jurien. They
are both located on the scenic Midlands coast and are popular
holiday destination, ideal for a relaxed holiday of sun, surf,
and bushwalking in the hinterland.
